'wr-'rl-'M'-'fffvlnwlrfr-:snag N gwagghnb 6,1 V lgwsiy 4 .,.. , .,,.o...1-T. . ss.--tv. EF, CLASS PROPHECY One day in the year of 1963, while sun bathing in Eddie Baba's mushroom cart, Sam got an idea, and little Al quickly seconded the motion. Sam wanted to tour the U.S. and get a good idea how our fellow classmates were getting along. We found our first classmate only two miles away in the great metropolis of Girard. lt was Mike Barkovich, who was the owner of a chain of theaters, and whom should we see in the lobby but head ticket ripper Lynne Davis. We asked Mike if he had heard from any of the classmates. Mike said that the only ones he had heard from were Mike Stofko, who was leading a safari through Africa, and Davie Kaercher, who was pole vaulting in the Olympics. From here we went to Youngstown and found Iohn Maysak's lFit Alll Shoe Store, whose motto is lf the shoes don't fit, the boxes will. Also there in Youngstown we found Dick Muckridge, who was dish-washer at Grant's. On our famous TV channel H.A.M.S. we found that Bob Sell and Bob Evans are leading comedians cn the Comedy Hour. But they're not the only attractions on TV: Ed Zajac is the strongman on Sealtest Circus. Well, enough for Youngstown. On to Denison, Ohio, where we find Bill Eldridge head cheerleader for Dennison College. Also in the small town of Denison, Bob White has his own photography studio, called the Shutter and Putter. While leaving Denison, we were passed by the first jet car we had ever seen, with none other than Peg Myers at the wheel. She is now a world-famous stock-car driver. Early the next morning we pulled into Factory Laden, Illinois, where we found Carlene Spjut had her Non-Smear lipstick factory. Carlene gave us our first bad news of the trip-Babs Brown was in the hospital with a nervous breakdown which had occurred when all her boyfriends had gotten a leave from the army at the same time. She also told us that Lois Fritz, had made good in Holly- wood as Marilyn Monroe's understudy. After leaving Carlene, we found Ronald Wilson, who had struck oil and is now a millionaire and has his lifetime wish of being popular with the girls. While we were visiting Ronnie, he gave us the lowdown on Fred Plecha, whose picture is now on the Gilette Razor Blade ads the has the 5 o'clock shadowj. Also famous in the advertising world we found Martha Ivy, who is advertising Pepsodent for The Smile of Beauty. From here we left Ron and started on our way to Moosejaw, Montana. About half way to Moosejaw we noticed that the termite special in which we were riding was in need of some petrol. So we pulled into the first gas station we saw, which was Friends' I-'riendly Service Station, owned and operated by Shirlee Friend and hubby. We had a long talk with Shirl, who told us of Sharon Gahagen and Lee Newhouse, who were dancing instructors at Arthur Murray's studio in Cactus Gulch, Montana, suburb of Moosejaw. Shirl also told us of Rodney Banish, who is owner of his own dancing studio called The Stumble Tumble. From here we left Shirl and went on into Moosejaw, where we found two school chums, Dick Cartwright and Leo Bard. Dick was giving trumpet lessons to the Indians on the Heap Squaw Reservation, and Leo Bard, who has been sta- tioned with the Navy, had just been made Admiral of the Ship's Life Buoy. We asked Dick and Red if they had heard from Iohnny Golubic, and they informed us that he was head football coach at Vassar University, lgirls school, you bone- headj. From here we decided to take off for home. Everything went swell 'till we pulled into Pittsburgh, and there the old buggy just wouldn't run any more. So we decided to take a cab to the railroad station. As Sam flagged down a cab, we noticed that Martha Yothers was driving. On the way to the railroad station, Martha told us that Kennon Phillips was happily married and was athletic director at Austintown Fitch, and that Vicky Popp has her own beauty shop. Their specialty is dyeing hair. Well, it was a quick trip from there back to McDonald. After arriving and parting and going hcme, we decided to look around town for the classmates who after graduation had made a success in their home town. We decided to stop at our Alma-Mater. Who do you think we found teaching French at old M.H.S.? None other than jane Casale. And we found that Rose Marie Durkin had made a success, and that she is now principal at the grade school. While at the High School, we had a talk with some of the teachers, who informed us that Carleen Ryan and Tom Witkoski are still going steady and thinking of getting married any year now. Also that Bebe Lobinger finally got a job and Larry said yes. From the high school we went to the class of 53's old hang-out, where Jeannette Sudol and Marion Vidak were running a parking lot. From here we went to the Summer Swimming Resort at Lake Fibby in McDonald and found Eileen lFritzl Killin diving champion. Well, having found out our classmates' success we decided we had better get back to our own professions. Sam left for his TV show, and Al decided he'd better get abck and see if Paul Brown still needed a water boy.
