LAUREL The Laurel this year, as every other, was the product of hard work and the co-operation of all the committees: but unlike other years, its 1959 creators had a special assignment. Since the 1959 Laurel would be the last, it had to be a Laurel that could bring the old halls of lVl.H.S. to life again simply by turning its pages. The editorial staff, with David Pletincks as editor, was responsible for all the cutting, mailing, pasting, writing, and in general the composition of the book. The advertising staff, Ending its job much more difficult than in the past, solicited ads which was a major project for raising funds. The art staff did the sketches seen through- out the book. The business staff took the lead in raising money and soliciting subscriptions. The circulation staff distributed the finished Laurels. The sports staff compiled the statistics and other information concerning sports. The graduating class would sincerely like to thank the advertisers and patrons for their contri- butions toward making the I959 Laurel a success, and last but by no means least, we would like to thank Miss Kirk for her patience and time.

Who has club news this time? Now remember everything must be in and typed ready to go down to the 'Record- Outlook' Wednesday after school. The other staffs included the editorial, whose members, in addition to the editor and assistant These were familiar questions and comments heard by the Chronicle staff, which is also known as the Journalism class. Somehow the editor, David Pletincks, who was ably assisted by Mary Beth Hampson and Ross Sigley, always managed to see that enough material was written, typed and sent down to the Record-Outlook on time. Publishing the Chronicle gave the staff ex- perience in composition, sharpened its contacts with the public, and its business ability. In spite of all the financial headaches, the bills have all been paid, thanks to the advertising staff, headed by editors were: Elizabeth Siry. Marianne Siry, and Helen Marie Finig circulation, headed by Shirl jean Boynes, assisted by Virginia Gilbert: business, headed by Gary Augustine, assisted by Carole Montgomery and Joseph Almady: art, headed by Robert Stone. assisted by Myron Schwab: Girls' sports, Joyce Lee: and boys' sports, Robert Bastide. The Chronicle staff would like to extend a sincere thank-you to the businessmen of McDonald and surrounding communities for their co-operation and patronage, for without their help the '59 Chronicle would not have been possible.

The Kem Klub, which was not organized until the second semester, chose for its officers James Valentour, president: Victor Mazzocco, vice president: and Janet Heron, secretary-treasurer. Meetings were held every two weeks during the class period. At many of the meetings, chemical KEM KLUB experiments were performed by members of the club. Incidentally all the experiments were successful with the help of Mr. Blockowicz. the club's sponsor.
