The Pan-American Club, sponsored by Mrs. Rosana Campbell, is one of the most colorful or- ganizations in lVl.H.S. This club does many things to brighten up the school, both in atmosphere and in color. Through the club, the members are made familiar with the language and customs of the Latin American people. The club meetings are held the first and third Mondays of each month. The club members had an interesting initia- tion of the first year students when the first year students were compelled to dress as Spaniards. This year's many activities included singing Spanish Christmas carols through the halls. the PAN-AMERICAN CLUB breaking of a pinata at the Christmas party, and a merienda. Another important activity of the club is the writing of letters to high school students in the Latin American countries. This enables the club members to more fully understand the attitudes and customs of their south-of-the-border neighbors. The club also sponsored a very successful dance. One of the most outstanding events of the year was the field trip to Pittsburgh to see jose Greco, famous Spanish dancer, and his troupe. Officers of the club were Dennis Cooper, president: Robert Glass, vice president: Jane Hugh- ey, secretary: Marion Thomassy, treasurer: and Barbara Allison, reporter.
