Pan-American Club Promotes Understanding of Latin America El Ulub Pan-Americana, one of the more colorful organizations of M. H. This year's many activities included a Merienda, or Spanish tea party, a ehili party, and a very impressive ceremony at which Mrs. Campbell, the sponsor, presented the pi11s. Only Spanish was spoken at these af- fairs, with a penalty imposed on anyone who spoke English. Two well - attended dances were held by the club. The outstanding event of the year was the trip to the Carnegie Music Hall to see Jose Greco. famous Spanish dancer, Rlllil his troupe. The Satur- nalia, consisting of a banquet and entertain- ment provided by the tirst-year Latins, was carried out in the true Roman style. A field trip to the Latin Festival held at Huhl Planetarium was a major event of the year. The students enjoyed the sky show and visited the 'Latin exhibit. Many interesting exhibits in the form of maps, leatherwork, and wood carving' were entered. ln connection with the Latin Festival, two Mcllonald stu- dents eompeted in a Latin examination held at Allegheny High School in February.
