Yesterday About school--1 remember.... I remember that first day as a FRESHMAN: The joy and sudden fear— Then the fun days and teardrops that washed away that year. A SOPHOMORE, how thrilling, 'til I looked ahead; Two more years before me— I might as well be dead! But it was fun: the ballgames and the dances and the classes, Before we even knew it, it was gone. My, how time passes. Now a JUNIOR--how exciting--a cheerleader, captain of the team, Cheering, playing, watching life race by like in a dream. Then a SENIOR--fateful day— all we've waited for so long— The play, the tests, the ball games, the car and dates, the old school song. The sudden fear that grips us as we near the good-by time— The Senior trip, the walk on stage, the poem without rhyme— Launching out into the space that we've been looking to, Clinging to the memories of the days I spent with you. Hold this little book, gently; in it is the magic truth To bring them back, the happy days of school and fun and youth.
