We, the youth, see Things that surely should not be. Men speak strong for brotherhood. Yes, they want peace, universal good. Freedom for all, equality, Our country strives for unity. When progress rides the winds so high. And on the edges of the sky. We the youth proclaim the things to be- In the forthcoming century. The rise of woman to her place. The birth of a much nobler race. Man, a challenge to the very sky Where the endless realms of conquest lie. We rise from despairing knees; And hear our brothers wanting pleas. Throw forth thy troubles from thy mind And pray to God for all mankind. Give thanks with all thy burning heart. Pray but to have in it a part Of the wisdom of thy heritage. Though we, who are youth, have not much age. Carry in our minds a torch we bear. And through our love for you we swear To see the challenge to fight it through. To build the future, for mankind, we love you. -Christy Jones 2 DEDICATED TO THE YOUTH OF TODAY- THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF THE FUTURE Sup e rintend ent of USD 2lp7 John Grasso School Board Jack Lane Gene Gillespie Ned Naylor-not shown Phillip Hook Loren Lahey Victor Seibert Paul Poznick 4 ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY Mr« Knox - Principal (2nd semester) Mr. Brunetti - Principal (1st semester) Mrs. Smith - Secretary Mrs Watson - Current World Problems, American History, World History, Government, Economics Mrs. Reynolds - English I, II, IV, Journalism, Speech, Yearbook Mr, Amos - Band, Chorus, Psychology, Bookkeeping Mr. Dvorak - Typing I, II, Office Practice, Commerce, Coach Mr.. The show was a tremendous success. The outcome was worth all the hard work put into the show. SWINGING HIGH The McCune High School put on their school play December 19, 1969. The plot was to get their new principal, Mr. McDuff, to allow their school to continue with their extra- curricular activities. Mr. McDuff was determined to start a new educational program. The students put their heads together and Diana came up with an idea. If she could get Connie, a very studious person, to concentrate on romance instead of studies, McDuff couldn't hold her as an example. Diana made the sacrifice of al- lowing her steady. Bill to flirt with Connie. But the scheme backfires as Bill falls for Connie and during a lab experiment Connie blows the lab and Mr. McDuff up. Mr. McDUff returns after a month in the hospital and still suffers from amnesia. His personality completely changes and the play comes to a swinging end as McDuff marries Miss Pinkerton, Diana gets Bill back and Connie falls for a swell guy, a student artist named Andy.
