The members must uphold academic, as well as service, standards. Upperclass- men must maintain a B average while freshmen and sophomores pull a C av- erage to remain in the club. The Good Sportsmanship League CGSLJ was dedicated to this task. Before each football game, GSL members walked onto the field to greet and exchange gifts with the other GSL group. The GSL also delivered the invocation at football and bas- ketball games. GSL is important to athletics because good sportsmanship turns barbaric sport into civilized fun, said president, Trent Carlyle. I see us as mediators of good and evil in a cosmic sense, said GSL member, Kathy Foster. Allison Jacobson greets the Kingwood GSL members.
