October 23-24 the speech department sponsored its first TFA State Qualifying tournament. More than 600 community volunteers judged the 700 competing students from different 4- A and 5-A high schools. With a lot of hard work, time, and effort, the tournament turned out to be a huge success, said Mike Muskat, secretary. B. J. The staff has won awards from the Co- lumbia Scholastic Press Association, ln- terscholastic League Press Conference, the University interscholastic League and state universities. Students control all aspects of the Caledonian's production: finance, adver- tising, design, interviewing, writing, edit- ing, typesetting and paste-up.
