The at band performed excellent half-time shows, highlighted by creative formations and a colorful array of flags. Many changes were made in the band this year. Tommy Tuggie was hired as assistant band director and the auxiliaries received new equipment and uniforms, which added color to the performances. Twelve squad leaders helped teach the band by example. Most of our success this year was due to the excellent example set by the squad leaders, said Director Ed Schutz. The band performed at football games, marched in parades, and competed at the Marching Bands of America contest and at the U.l.L. marching contest. l'll never forget the fun times I had in the band, said Kris Thompson, senior. Freshman tuba players Joe Weise and Russel Schneider are forced to wear bell covers on their head at practice. ff ltr: I K' Q K . With the arrival of Choir Director Pam Scarborough, and her assistant, Sal- ly Logee, there were many changes. Ms Scarborough and Ms. Logee are a lot more laid' back than Ms. Roe and Ms. Tannenbaum were. At first it was hard to adjust, but it's pretty neat now. said Beth Flosato, president of choir. Along with her other teaching duties, Scarborough stays busy with her long term plan to build the program in num- 1. Jana Phenicie, Kathy Sheil, and Teri Chamberlain practice for the annual Christmas concert. Devon Smith has Director Pam Scarborough double check his song for A Cappella I. ' I a new song bers and make it higher quality and more well rounded program. Choir members were kept busy with the Madrigal Feaste, U.l.L. competition, a trip to Six Flags, and their Christmas and Spring concerts. Between the working, we still find it in ourselves to have a fun time, said Rosato. When the choir comes together after working on a complicated piece of music, there's nothing more exciting than getting it right and having it sound good. J' fa.
