Chris Duffield, and Scott Sorenson dedicate many hours to work out in nw' ' 'lv -f L. fitness CRAZE D ogging, swimming, biking and walk- ing all have several things in com- mon. Other than the fact they make you sweat Qyes, you sweat in the watery and make you tired - they all make you physically fit. The quest for a healthy body, also known as the fitness craze, has caused millions of students, seniors and freshmen alike to work hard, pull muscles and drop from exhaustion. But as long as they are happy . . . Getting a body in shape and staying healthy is the in thing to do. Each morning the same people can be seen jogging. With teeth gritted and mus- cles bulging, they run through the pain in search for that tube of Ben-Gay. ff5..G22'1wLg0 For the hard-core fitness enthusiast, there is weight lifting. The results can be impressive. Arnold Schwarzenegger gets paid millions of dollars for flexing his bi- ceps and saying a few words. Staying in shape can also prove to be profitable. What is put into the body is also im- portant when it comes to staying healthy. Salad bars, such as the one established in the cafeteria, are a step in the right di' rection. Teenagers exercise to build up or slim down. A physically fit person has a more relaxed state of mind and a body to be proud of. Leigh Ann Jordan enjoys the schools salad bar fora nutritional lunch. 1 5 addicted to STY LE U sn't it interesting the way students are so well-known for being suscep- tible to peer pressure and fads, yet when walking down the hall of McCul- lough, all that can be seen is individuals. The beauty of the individual is accented by observing a typical school day in The Woodlands. Standing in the parking lot at seven in the morning will magnify whose priorities are where, The Skate Rats, accompanied by their outlandish hair-do's arrive at school by means of their own unique form of wheels, They leave their homes early enough so that they can share a few precious moments with their friends and their boards before the cars invade their area. The Skate Rats know it is time to get out of the parking lot when the Headbangers park their cars along the bike path. These Smokey and the Ban- dit look alikes arrive in plenty of time so they can socialize across the street from the school. The Prim and Proper Preps carefully park and lock their BlvlW's and they then casually stroll into the building, The Jocks, although highly admired by all, sometimes forget to set the perfect example. Arriving fashionably late yet ear- ly enough to avoid getting in trouble, they carelessly park their sports cars and pick- up trucks. Everyone can easily spot their precious letter jackets as they strut into the school, Finally, the punks and new wave roam in. The punks jam to fast-pace vulgar music while the new wavers list to music they can dance to. Both types students are often found at the local clL Dynamx enjoying their tunes. lt is diffic to stereotype these two cliques becau each person possesses complete unique clothes, hair, jewelry, and persc alities. McCullough is truly a special plac l-lere, everyone is free to express the selves in almost any way that they wif The possession of this freedom will fo, stronger and happier individuals. After 4 individuals are what this school is mal of! David Boak and Mike Garrett practice their studly looks. Terri Haik, Julie Prchal, and Kim Lyons represent the preps as they head for the mall. aff Pi W3
