WEEkENDs ave you ever noticed that 90? of a teenager's conversation refers ei- ther to what he did last weekend or what he is going to do this weekend? When you really think about it, weekdays only serve as a time to recover from the past weekend's adventures and to make plans for the upcoming one. The weekend officially begins at 2:35 pm. on Friday afternoon and doesn't end until 7:35 a.m. Monday morning. Even Sunny Smiley and Miranda Cassidy cruise The Woodlands in search of the ultimate party. Kenny Lott prepares for the big party. 12 Lgv though we all hate Mondays, it gives us a chance to talk about the fantastic time we had the few days before. So what are you going to do? At the beginning of the year if you didn't have anything better to do you could go to a football game. But now what? How about watching a swim meet or a soccer game? Everyone has his own version of a fun weekend. If you don't have to work, or to write that research paper you waited until . -gk 3436. ist it Q Xp NSA the last minute to do, you can usually fir plenty of parties to grace with your pre ence. If you are not the party type, yc have your choice of watching a movi clubbing, hanging out, or doing just abo anything. give it a REST emember being in grade school? It was considered proper social et- iquette to put your head down on the desk. Now, if you want to take a quick nap, you must be prepared to be the laughing stock of the classroom. Be honest now, how many times have you seen a fellow student nodding off in class? And whatfdid you do? Did you wake him up? No, of course not. You probably poked the guy next to you and said something like, Hey, get a load of .agzgmtzgw Mike over there, and at this time both of you tried your hardest to suppress your laughter, right? Then you told someone else, and they told someone else, and so on, and so on, until the entire class was watching poor Mike try to support his head upon his gradually weakening neck. The guy probably fell asleep, drooled on his desk, and then was deserted as the rest of the class tip-toed out of the room, leaving him to face the incoming class. lt's unusual for fellow students to come to the aid of the sleeping beauties before the are awakened and questioned by th teacher. The next time you see one of your but dies drifting off in class, have a hear Quietly wake him up and save him froi the humiliation of awakening in a differei class with strangers staring at him. Nick Colucci tries to absorb the facts from his government book.
