a E I Terryl Sturrock dives to make the big save out of life M ith nine returning lettermen and 14 seniors, the varsity blitzed to an- i' D other outstanding season, with perhaps the best talent in the history of soccer. Booting off the season with a pre- season victory over Klein Oak, ranked number one in Region lll, the Varsity team started on the right foot. With the quick feet, agility, and strong ball control the players were able to con- trol the momentum of the game. The de- fense, led by all-district Scott Morris and Doug Dellmore provided a solid wall that was difficult to break. Having played with each other for sev- eral years we had a lot of confidence in ourselves and each other that enabled us to play with a lot of enthusiasm and ag- gressiveness, said Dellmore. Combining this strong defense with a hungry, aggressive, goal scoring offense the Varsity scored many goals to ensure an easy victory. The experience of team captain Dodge Macias, and the excellent play of sophomore, John Tillisch, along with junior, Eric Deal provided an awe- some offensive threat. Coach Gordy Schoeller stated, With their attitudes, will to win, individual skills, and dedication this was one of the strong- est teams l have ever coached. As the season progressed the team became stronger and more consistent, which re- sulted in an outstanding record and a slot in the play-offs. Freshmen: Top, left to right: Goalie, N. Young, C.
