injuries plague sub- varsity teams statistics show worst injury record eve ' njuries plagued the subvarsity teams. The junior varsity lost five players, the sophomores lost one player and the fresh- men Iost four. However, the teams fought for successful seasons. JV compiled a 7-3 record. Leading play- ers were Roger Kelly, Jeff King, Leonard Tadvick, Eric Uresti and Jeff Deloof. We ended the season playing our best, said Coach Randy Reedy. The sophomores also finished with a 7- 3 season. Key players were Jacques Balette, Tim Vitto, Geoff Reese, Mike Weaver, Bryan Elwood and Travis l-lird. Bobby Conlley was out with an injured shoulder. Although the freshman A team fin- ished at 3-7, the players experienced some high points. Lyle Larhworthy's blocked punt and Brian Lively's recovery for a game-winning touchdown provided excitement. Mike Huxel, Lively, Larhworthy, Chun Paige, Mark Collins Matt Kaslik had a good season, 1 though the 'A' team had a frustrz year, said Coach Joe Vasek. The B team fared better at 6 Leading players were Jared Young, had a 99-yard kick return. Jeff Ho Jason Balette, J. C. Churchwell and Doakes were solid in their positions. Ranked number two in the na- tion and being named All-American Team for the seventh year in a row, is only the beginning. Receiving the title of District champs for the tenth consecutive year, and Regional champs for the sev- enth year in a row cannot compare to winning the state title for the fourth time running in the six out of seven years they have brought the award home. Undefeated this season, individual run- ners Danny Green, Curtis McLemore, Todd Carrigan, and Bret Porter finished on top. All four were named All-American runners with Green and McLemore for the second time. They run from seventy to seventy-five miles per week. lt takes one hundred per- cent of one's effort and dedication to per- form well on the team.
