SENIOR CLASS HISTCRY We, as green Freshmen started out high school life in 1952 by electing the following officers, President-Thais Booth, Vice President-Kayleen Wilkinson, Secretary 85 Treasurer-Jim Leader, Historian-Alberta Hess, Reporter-Lois Carol Montague. This year our advisor was Mr. Wadling- ton, Our class roll revealed 34 members. The activities of the year included a bake sale and Christmas party. At the close of our freshman year we selected our class flower, a white rose, our colors, cardinal red and tan, and our motto, A Quitter Never Wins and A Winner Never Quits, We, as more experienced Sophomores started our 1953 term by electing Jim Leader, President, Jim Sheidler, Vice President, Bob Pickens, Secretary 85 Treasurer, Howard Troutner, Historian, and Roberta Wisterman, Reporter. We gladly welcomed three new members: Joan Harper from Bowling Green, Jim Sheidler from Pandora Gilboa, and Shirley Foltz from Hoytville, Later in the year we were glad to see Jerry Myers and Lowell Spitnale back with us. This made a total of 38 members. On December 23rd we held a high-school Christmas party which everyone en- joyed. In May we enjoyed another fine class party, a weiner roast at the roadside park followed by a hay-ride. Mr. Burt was our advisor that year. The year 1953 found us as jolly juniors, and to see us through the year we chose the following officers, President, Jim Leader, Vice President, Howard Troutner, Secretary 8: Treasurer, Bob Pickens, Historian, Alberta Hess, and Reporter, Kayleen Wilkinson. We were sorry to lose Jackie Pingle, Jane Goddard, and Dick Thayer, but glad to see Myra Cole back from Findlay. This year was a busy one as we had to work to make money for our class trip. Some of our money- making projects were selling Christmas cards, everyday cards, McComb Panther shirts, concessions at basketball games, a round and square dance, and our class play, Mr. Beane From Lima, directed by our class advisor Mrs, Ensign, who so willingly helped us make all of our projects become huge successes. May 22nd we entertained the seniors with a banquet in an 'Under the Sea' theme, We were served that evening by sailors and waves from the Sophomore Class, May 24th we served as honor guard for the Seniors' Commencement. On September 2nd, 1954 we Seniors made our grand entrance for our final year in good old M. H. S. Roll call showed an attendance of 31. We were very sorry to lose Kayleen Wilkinson, who moved to Findlay, Mary Jane Franks, Joan Harper, Myra Cole, and Helen Allen. We were honored by having Mrs. Ensign for our class advisor again this year. Our officers this year were, Roberta Wisterman, President,Dorothy Leader, Vice President, Alberta Hess, Secretary Sa Treas- urer, Thais Booth, Historian, and Lois Carol Montague, Reporter. October 18th a ham supper was served by our Mothers before the homecoming football game. We were very proud of our queen, Shirley, who reigned over the game, Concessions at basketball games also helped our treasury. f The annual Christmas Party was enjoyed by everyone, and most of the fun was in decorating or it. Our class play, although it was on April Fool's Day was a huge success. Our trip to Washington was the highlight of the year, and the cherry blossoms were beautiful the weekend of April 16th, We wish to thank the Juniors for the nice banquet. l'm sure everyone enjoyed it. This being an event of May 14th our biggest day of the year was yet ahead of us. This day, May 15th, Baccalaureate was held at 2:00 and Commencement at 8:00. This concluded the highschool days of the class of 1955. 21
