We were happy to add Rose Burnett from Continental, Dan Dietrick from Deshler, and Sara Myers from Belmore to our class. We were sorry to lose Larry Wilcox, who moved away in No- vember. In December we enjoyed a high school Christmas party. Later on in the year we had two successful parties. We chose as our class colors, scarlet and gray. Our flower is the white rose. Our class motto is, Enter to grow, depart to serve. 28

SOPHCMORE CLASS The Sophomore class opened this year with 38 members. We were sorry to lose .Jack Harden who moved to Bloomville, and Bonnie Tate was forced to quit because of illness. D ick Pickens Historians ............. Sandra Wagner Mr. Detamore was named our advisor. Early inthe year we held a very successful class party in the club room. At the High School Christmas Party our class was well represented. We were very proud to have so many boys participating in sports. We are very proud of Bruce Chapman, Duane Lambert, Dick Pickens, and Frank Rozelle who received football letters. Several Sophomore girls went out for cheerleader. We are very proud of Carol Sue Fundum who received the honor which so many were seeking. Later in the year we were fortunate to choose our class rings and are looking forward to receiving them next year. We'll be seeing you next year but then we will call ourselves Juniors. 27

EIGHTH GRADE We opened this year with 40 students. We were sorry to lose Shirley Duncan, but were glad to welcome Russell Ernst and Roy Heiney. We now have 41 students. Rosie Rader Historian ............ . . Mary Haughn Our class advisor was Mr. Ammons. We had a party at Sandra Shafer's house in October and a bake sale in November, that went off fairly well. We had a Christmas party in the gym with the 7th grade and we hope to have an 8th grade party in the Spring. We have had lots of fun this year and hope to continue having fun the rest of the year. We will be seeing you next year as Freshmen. 29
