Courses offered in the science department are general science, physiology, biology, physics, and chemistry. The schools’ laboratories are well equipped, and the up-to-date apparatus and chemicals help students gain understanding through ex- perimentation under supervision. Graduates in the college preparatory course are required to have two years of science, and those planning to enter any scientific occupation are encouraged to take as many of these science courses as possible. Ninth grade general science students become famillar with Aeiek slate equipment—Erin McCosker, Mr. Lowery, Louis Smith.
