Kenneth Andrews Manager Ronnie McCann Manager Orlando Navarro Manager Cowboys , Indians Battle To Tie B. Chessman scores second touchdown and the Cowboys go ahead by I4 points over the Indians. The Cowboys dream was shattered as McCollum went for their third straight victory over Harlandale and tied. The Cowboys started out with a pitch out from T. Williamson to B. Chessman. The pitch out ended up being a 73-yard run as Chessman danced his way from the 27-yard lineto the Indian end zone. It wasn't long until McCollum got the ball again and drove 75 yards in 15 plays ending with a 22-yard pass to D. Ayala, putting the Cowboys ahead by 14 points. As the Cowboys became a little over-confident, the Indians scored two quick touchdowns. During the third and fourth quarters, there were threats of scoring by both teams. McCollum did score in the fourth quarter only to have it called back because of a penalty.

Cowboys Lose Hope For District Junior Henry Ridgeway 1 year letterman P. Felux attempts to catch a pass. The McCollum hopes of becoming the 1969 district champions were darkened by a loss to Sam Houston. During the first quarter, Sam Houston jumped out to a 14-point lead. During the second quarter, the passing of T. Williamson became too much of a challenge for the Cherokees. Williamson threw to B. Chessman for a 13-yard score and then to P. Felux for the two extra points. McCollum got the ball after a Houston punt and drove to the five-yard line with Williamson running over tying up the score. The third quarter injury to T. Capps and B. Chessman took the punch out of the Cowboy offense and the Cherokees took over by scoring one touchdown in the third quarter and two in the last. Unclerclossmen Look To Future The McCollum B-team will hopefully be varsity team members next year. This year they had stiff competition, according to Coaches M. Dresch and J. Czar, but they completed their season with five wins and four losses. The McCollum freshman football team ended the 1969-70 football season with a record of one win, one tie, and five losses.
