Several purposes include the expansion of each member's personality to her fullest potential and the development of school spirit through participation in school sponsored activities. Some activities attended range from football games in the fall to basketball, volleyball, and baseball games during the rest of the school year. Several social services included in 1969-70 were ushering for programs at various schools, at Hemisfair, and for the A 8L M Singing Cadettes, selling poppies for the Veterans of Foreign War, and entertaining at nursing homes. , Members attend Tri-C's for a regular period during the school day for which each girl receives one high school credit in Physical Education. In order to be eligible for Tri-C's, candidates must have passed all subjects the semester prior to election and must maintain a fairly high scholastic average throughout the year as members. New members are selected in January and May of each year. March begins workshops for the various positions able to be held in the organization. Try-outs follow the practice weeks and those best qualified are announced at the annual Green and Gold Prom as the following year's leaders.
