Loyalty and pride are two elements when combined produce spirit, that one force a person must possess in order to be a part of a country, an organization, or a school. Displayed in countless ways, school spirit is most evident in the cheers at a football game, in the eyes of students singing the school song, and halls decked with posters. Spirit is unity. pp..-M

At play, we have the chance to be ourselves, to go our separate ways and be, if only for a moment, whatever we desire. Here the leaders, who seem to have been born as such, break from the crowd and guide the followers. But the leaders were not born lead- ers and the followers not born followers. They were shaped by their experiences. At play we have the chance to find that one special niche for which the total of our past experiences has made us perfect. Students not only gain knowledge in the subjects taught, but also accomplish much through extra-curricular activities. At school we learn the difference between educa- tion and ignorance, truth and fallacy, justice and injustice, tolerance and intolerance. Here true Americans emerge.
