Cowboys Squeek Post Cots Robert BMTOWS, senior Jackie Belt, senior Tony Capps, junior 2 year letterman , .,q g gym -rf ,.,.. ' or frr I? WWF? Mark Dossett, senior Pat Felux, sophomore Ernest Haiek, sophomore McCollum opened District 29- AAAA play with a hard fought 18-6 win over the stubborn South San An- tonio Bobcats. The Bobcats grabbed an early 3-0 lead before senior tail- back Mike Aduddell scored the first of his two touchdowns. In the third quarter South San tied the score but Aduddell then scored his second touchdown giving McCollum a 12-6 lead. Minutes later, speedster Gary Miller came off the bench cold and put the game on ice with a 54 yard scoring run. Aduddell was the leading rusher with 203 yards rushing on 39 carries. A South San Bobcat finds the going rough as two Cowboy tacklers close in for the stop Cowboys won18-6.

Gamesp One Falls Short -X1 Faces were long and saddened as Cowboys look on as the Seguin Matadors end a brief two game winning streak. ltfffksnrsm Seguin's mighty Matadors ended McCollum's winning streak with a 26-6 victory after leading the Cowboys only 13-6 at halftime. In the second half the Matadors turned Cleveland Vann loose and kept the Cowpokes from scoring. The lone Cowboy tally came in the second quarter as Gilbert Ramirez scored the touchdown that tied the game for a short time. The following week McCollum came roaring back with a 32-6 bout with Central Catholic's Buttons. Leading 19-0 at halftime, the Cowboy's defense finally yielded a touch- down but halfback Gary Miller took a kickoff, fumbled the ball, recovered, and scampered 78 yards for a touchdown and a 32-6 victory. Gary McCulloch, senior Tommy Nabors, senior The Cowpokes continued their winning ways by bouncing the Golden Bears of Edison 34-7 after spotting the Bears a 7-6 halftime lead. McCollum scored the go ahead touchdown on the first play of the second half as Mike Aduddell ram- bled 73 yards for the score. Lee Buckelew scored two touchdowns and Tony Capps and Dale Skinner also crossed the goal line before the game finally ended. The Cowboys held Edison to 104 yards total offense while Buckelew, Capps, and Aduddell rolled up a total of 376 yards.
