The program conditions students for vigorous activity and team-work. Chemistry strives to develop an understanding of the elementsg their structure and theo- ries. Physics emphasizes the ,forces of heat and electricity, of sound and light. P.E. Promotes Fitness McCollum's Girls Physical Edu- cation Department is designed to offer girls a more complete physical fitness program. The program includes both team and individual sports. Activities of- fered in the department are basket- ball, baseball, badminton, bowling, rhythmics, speed ball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Sport units are con- cluded by an after school intra- mural program which involves competition of class teams. The National Physical Fitness Test is also given to classes twice yearly. Cowboy Corral Cadets, school pep squad, is also considered a part of the physical education depart- ment. The girls meet first period every day and receive credit for one unit in phys. ed. per year. J. Becker B. Stanley R. Wayland M. Lee Miss Barbara Stanley's P.E. class learn the steps of a dance to the tune of Alley Cat.
