The course impresses upon students the importance of being able to communicate effectively and helps students gain an apprecia- tion of all types of literature. Dur- ing this second year of,English, students are introduced to the writ- ings of William Shakespeare and read their first long novel. English Il helps students to gain a better understanding of the technical side of the English language.
