iuiclance For Students Mr. Reggie Marthis assumed the position of Boys, Counselor this year on the McCollum faculty. As Boys' Counselor, Mr. Marthis is co-sponsor of the National Honor Society and assists in planning the school's scho- lastic testing program. He is also sponsor of the Projectionist Club. Mr. Marthis obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Education Degree from Trinity University. He earned his Counseloris Certification from Our Lady of the Lake College. In 1966 he coached McCol1um's baseball team to a second place in district l6AAAA competition. He then left McCollum to become coun- selor at South San Jr. High and this year returned as Boy's Counselor. Mrs. Lucille Deasey is a well known person on the McCollum campus. She has held the position of counselor since McCollum first opened. As counselor, Mrs. Deascy advises students on personal and school problems. She is co-sponsor of the McCollum Chapter ofthe Nation- al Honor Society. Mrs. Deasey obtained her Bache- lor of Science from De Paul Univer- sity and her Master of Education from Our Lady of the Lake College. 1 SP Administrators Provide Mr. Ernest Hoffman, assistant principal, assumed his position as a McCollum administrator in Septem- ber 1968. Mr. Hoffman came to McCollum three years ago as a math instructor. He has been employed as a teacher in the Harlandale Indepen- dent School District for nine years. Mr. Hoffman earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees at Southwest Texas State College. In 1967 Mr. Hoffman coached the McCollum Golf Team to win the 16AAAA championship. As assistant principal, Mr. Hoff- man handles student prob- lems. He assumes for all Ufffsr , ae at Mr. Earl Ott, assistant principal of McCollum, is responsible for all financial records concerning the school, clubs and organizations. He supervises the janitorial staff and facilitates the school building. Mr. Ott has taught sixteen years in the Harlandale Independent School District. His previous experience before coming to McCollum when the school opened, was teaching bookkeeping and secretarial studies at Harlandale. Mr. Ott holds the Bachelor of Science from Trinity University and a Master of Education degree from Southwest Texas State College.

Seniors Honor Teacher Senior English, an elective for those seniors who want to complete four years of high school English, is a combination of composition and literature. Composition and essay writing draws on the knowledge the student has learned in his study of the English language in the past eleven years. The literature of the senior year is from England. The senior becomes acquainted with the history of the country as well as the literature, from the Anglo-Saxon Period to the twentieth century authors. J. Adams E. Allen M. Dinkins A. Fellinge M.
