Behind the scenes, fingernails were worn and hearts were pounding as Miss Ruby McPherson, team sponsor, and alternates Brenda Atwood, Julie Gonzalez, Julie Eheling, Tommy Ragsdale, and James Gore waited in the private viewing room. Before the show, the contestants themselves showed they were not quite as cool as they would like to be. For the finale, however, they left a legacy for next yearis team- winning and not tripping over camera wires. 301
