Spanish and Latin are of- fered to teach students to com- municate, to understand the different cultures, and to aid the student in gaining knowledge of linguistics. Fine Arts Department con- sists of speech, choir, art, jour- nalism, band, and pep squad. Each course enables a student to express his own feelings through oratorials, sketches, sculpturing, Writings, singing, and school spir- lt. ecccdea Wad me ...pd English Teachers lnclude Miss Mary Hartwig, Mrs. Audrey Fellinge, Miss Martha Searcy, Miss Martha Young, and Mrs. J eri Wilgers The English depart- ment seeks to instill in students a knowledge of communicating ideas in an understandable manner. English students do inten- sive reading in American and English literature and learn to create and express ideas intelligently. There are four levels of the Eng- lish department ranging from basic grammar to advanced senior literature. The History de- partment urges stu- dents to take an active interest in their government and the history of their coun- try. As the year comes to a close, history stu- dents have a more comprehensive knowl- edge of the surround- ing world.
