acmceiaw awe :W Mr. Larry Brown is serving his second year as NlcCollumls Counselor. Mr. Brown previously taught Texas History, and Civics at Harlandale High School. He received his Bachelor of Science and hlaster of Education from Southwest Texas State College in government, history, and education. ln addition to his regular duties, Mr. Brown also acts as co-sponsor of the National Honor Society and assists in planning the schoolis scholastic testing program. 9 lVlrs. Lucille Deasey, counselor, is concerned with student's personal and school problems, and supervises the high school testing program for students. She is sponsor of the lVlcCollum Chapter of the National Honor Society. Mrs. Deasey is a graduate of Chica- go Teachers College and has re- ceived her Bachelor of Science Dc- gree from De Paul University in Chicago, Illinois, and her Masters Degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, Texas.

English students do inten- sive reading in American and English literature and learn to create and express ideas intelligently. There are four levels of the Eng- lish department ranging from basic grammar to advanced senior literature.
