The Cadette Precision Dance Team is composed of 32 girls including four who perform as captains. Members are selected from the Drill Team on the basis of ability, appearance, and personality. Preliminary try-outs are held in April before the club sponsor and dance team captains. Final team selection is made in May by qualified judges not associated with McCollum. Girls selected for finals are qualified to try-out for captain by composing and directing a dance routine and performing in front of the club, and sponsor. The sponsor and current dance team captains make the final selection of the new leaders. The Dance Team performs routines during home football and basketball games and at other community events upon request. 154

Third Row: Mary Linda Torres, Sheila Wilson, Gayle The Cowboy's Corral Cadettes, better known as the Tri-C's is an organization with several purposes including the development of school spirit through participation in school-sponsored activities. Other purposes of the organiza- tion are to expend the personality of each member to her fullest potential, to serve McCollum as a service and social organization, and to drill at football games and other events upon request. Members attend Tri-Cas for a regular period during the school day for which each girl receives one high school credit in Physical Education. In order to be eligible for Tri-Cas, candidates must have passed all subjects the semester prior to election with a C+ average. All members must maintain at least a C- average.
