We started this work very early in September when we started on annual advertisement drives. WOLFRUM f MR. NONEMAN This is Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach, Robert Wolf- rum. Mr. Wolfrum is in his second year at McClure High School and, in this short time, he has proven to be not only a fine coach, but a very competent leader of the students in our school. Coach Wolfrum was graduated from Defiance College and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Mr. Wolfnrm has had previous coaching experience at Alvordton and Hilltop high schools. This is Baseball coach and Junior High Basketball coach, James Noneman. Mr. Noneman is in his first year at McClure High School and has developed a top rate Junior High Basketball team. Coach Noneman was graduated from Colorado State University and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. The Senior Band, during the past year, participated in the following act- ivities. During the summer were the outdoor concerts with ice cream socials. The Grand Rapids Frolic Band Competition was won by the McClure Band for the fifth straight year. For the first time in eight years the band did not put on basketball shows: therefore, more time was devoted to preparation for the Contest. After re- ceiving straight I's for four consecutive years in C-2, the band entered in a higher classification. They received a I rating in the district and a Il rating in the state competition last year. Carol Van Tassel received the Sousa Award as the out-standing band member of 1958. Two instruments were added to the band this year. These are the sousaphone and tympani which have definitely helped the band in better instrumentation. The two student teachers, Richard Farley and John Gregory, gained valuable experience which should be of great help to them in their future work.
