Half Done - Well Begun As you read this, you will probably think of the time when you were Cor will bel Sopho- mores. That's the time they say Half Done, Well Begun . We Sophomores are well on the way to the last lap of our career at M. H. S. We have dreams and hopes for our future, but along the way, we are going to have some fun with our work. Even as Sophomores, in high school, we still like to throw paper wads, hide each other's belongings and chew bubble gum iust to aggravate the teachers. Will we ever grow up? you probably ask. Well, did you? We're only human. Our officers for this year are: President, Dean Armstrong, Vice President, Charles Snider, Secretary, Tom Kryder, Treasurer, Jim Shidler, News Reporter, Dorothy Hines and Advisor, Mr. Carver. ln September we entered with 18 members. These members represented the Sophomore class in basketball, baseball, music, home economics, and initiating the Freshmen. Since our school career is 5X6 over, we're patiently waiting for the day when we are The Seniors of M.H.S. The First Nighter Taxi! Taxi! Please driver, to the doors of M. H. S. You see, we're starting our first year in the Good Old Theater of M. H. S. Oh, here we are! Thank you, sir! As we open the back stage door, a chill runs up our spine, for tonight is our first H. S. per- formance. Our friends and parents watch from the audience to see us begin our first great per- 'fOI'fT1Cl'1Ce. Our cast C0l'tSlSlS of GCl'0I'S Gnd GCll'eSSeS. Curtain Time! Act l. As the curtain rises in the year of 1949-1950 we find ourselves elect- ing as our leaders: President, Jack Mitchell, Vice President, Richard Babcock, Secretary, Roger Kerwin, Treasurer, Nora Junge, News Reporter, Larry Spangler and Advisor, Mrs. Harmon. Many activities, including the dreadful initiation of September 30, take place during our first act. The happy ending of Act I draws to a close May 19, 1950. Curtain!
