.,-, Basketball Orville Babcock Began the season on the reserve team. Worked his way to the position of guard on the varsity. He shows good defensive ability and teamwork. Never gave up un- til the game was over. Karl Barnes Best point maker on the team. Garner- ed a total of 159 points in 14 games. Came to this school from Westhope where he played for two years previously. His fast floorwork made him a dangerous op- ponent. Is expected to help form the back- bone of the team another year. Paul Carlisle Devoted part of his time to reserve team. Noted for winning games by scor- ing in overtime periods. Proved himself when the varsity needed him because of illness. Very fast. Will help to make our team in the coming season. Robert Chamberlin This year's captain and center. Good on the jump. Played as a reserve during his freshman year. Was a guard on the varsity while a sophomore and junior. Good defensive player. Worked as feeder and followed the ball. Robert Conn Played on reserve team when a fresh- man and sophomore. Put on varstiy this year. Steady guard. May become a smooth-moving player. Played a good floor game. ls also expected to a part of our team next year. tiff' 'P I . . -3 V A Varsity Willis Croninger Played his first year at Westhope. Ser- ved as a regular this year. A good feeder at the guard position. Can play a good defensive game. Good at retrieving the ball from the backboard. Will be a val- uable player on our next year's team. Joseph Flowers Illness of varsity members gave him an opportunity to prove his ability on first team. Played guard on reserve team. A good feeder at position of guard. Can play a good defensive game. Good shot. Can- didate for next year's varsity team. James Kiefer Played last year at Westhope as guard. Came here and was put on the varsity. A little self-conscious on the floor, but show- ed flashes of scoring ability. Can use either hand. A valuable player for another year's YCZIITI. Marvin Peery ' Reserve player when a freshman and sophomore. This was his second year as a regular. A steady player on defense and a good feeder on offense. Played consis- tently good floor game. Was a guard on both reserve and regular teams. Could get open for under-the-basket shots. John Wenzel Tallest player on the team. Very con- sistent point-getter, making a total of 108 points. Played in every game this season. Turned in his best playing at the guard position. On reserve team his first and second years. Promoted to varsity team in his third year.
