Nearly all the action of the play takes place at the Zeta house, which is a popular gathering place for the students. Hurricane Hal CDoy1e Goodj is noted for falling in love with underclass- men girls: Dave Isaacs fRoyce Steigerj is Hal's nearest friend: Lud Mason CWalter Weimerj, a senior: Bud Watkins CDonald Shepardj is Lud's shadow: Junior Harvey CGeorge Nelsonj, the song and dance man: Professor Shuman Cl-Iarold Rettigj is a fraternity brother and Don Kellogg CRussell McClureJ is another brother of the fraternity. The leading female parts are played by the Junior girls. A Junior boy, as well as some Freshman girls had to be borrowed to complete the cast. THE BOYS Has there any pretty blonde got mixed with the boys? If there has, take her out Without making a noise. Hang the Dynamo on the catalogue spike! Old Time's a liar: We're seven tonight. We're seven! We're seven! Who says We are more? She's tipsy, young jackanapes, show her the door! Gray temples at twenty? Yes, white if we please , Where the snow-flakes fall thickest there nothing can freeze. We've a trick, we young fellows, you may have been told. The good ship McClure High had not gone far on the voyage before it was found that the Freshmen class was necessary to the success of the undertaking. In taking our bearings we failed to ind colors, motto, or flower: nevertheless, we elected oflicers as follows: Doyle Good, presi- dent: Royce Steiger, vice-president: Earlma Hartsing, secretary-treasurer. After a few months of rest we came back a fairly seasoned crew and accomplished our duty of initiating the Freshmen. We placed two boys and a girl on the basketball teams. We were also represented in the orchestra. We carried the same crew of officers, but in taking our bearings could not sound deep enough to iind colors or motto. In the fall of 1928 we again found ourselves at the wharf, a sturdy seasoned crew. At the helm were: Donald Shepard, president: George Nelson, vice-president: Harold Rettig, secretary- treasurer. Five boys made the basketball teams. We sounded deep enough and brought up Impossible is Un-American for our class motto. The big event of the year was the Junior- Senior banquet. The remaining girl in the class decided to change captains and embarked on another vessel, Matrimony. Some others of the crew became seasick before the end of the year, and left us at the lirst port. A staunch little crew of six was ready to sail the unknown in the fall of 1929, but on embarking, the number was increased to seven by a new recruit from Milton Center. And now as we disembark we entrust to our fellow voyagers, our beloved old craft, McClure High, hoping they will have blue skies, fair weather, and a safe voyage. 1945 CLASS WILL Be it known that we, the Senior Class, being of sound mind and good judgment, and realizing that our life in McClure High School is drawing to a close, do now on this first day of May, 1930, hereby execute, declare, and ordain this to be our last will and testament. ARTICLE I To the faculty we bequeath all of the trouble and joys of producing a class eflicient to fill the vacancy left by us. ARTICLE II To the Junior class we bequeath our athletic ability. To the Sophomores we bequeath our manner of disagreeing on all subjects. To the Freshman class we will a book entitled, How to Acquire Knowledge . ARTICLE III Item Doyle Good, will my ability as a dancing master to Dawn Carlile. Item Harold Rettig, will my strange power over women to Merle Good. Item , Donald Shepard, will my penmanship ability to Mildred Hockman. Item Walter H. Weimer, will my quiet and pleasing disposition to Ralph Conn. Item George Nelson, bequeath to Donald Smith, the book entitled Love Procedure , hoping he will be benefitted by it in future attempts. Item 6. I, Royce Steiger, will my devotion, love, and affection for the Junior girls to Franklin Adams. Item 7. I, Russell McClure, will my ability to attract Freshmen girls to LeRoy Weimet. Fourteen
