:bi f x UBI' ,W ,A, , , - f Y, JIOV CLASS HISTORY Four years have come and gone since the class of '43 first entered McClure High School. They have been four years filled with happiness and occasionally with some sorrow. In the fall of '39 we entered M.H.S. We num- bered 28 with 8 members from Mifflin County, and we were Greenies too, but the green soon wore off. VVe held a class meeting at which time we elected the following officers: President, Alfred VVagnerg Vice President, Palmer Marshallg Secretary, Carolyn VVagnerg Treasurer, Alton Brininger. We selected our colors, royal blue and silver gray. One of our social events that year was a hay ride, which was a great success. Again the school bell resounds and our number has dwindled to Z4 gay but serious Sophomores. Our officers who guided us through this year were: President, Alfred Wagner, Vice President, Palmer Marshallg Secre- tary, Zelapha Kneppg Treasurer, Billy Frye, and Historian, Mary Jane Peters. In this year we gained Darthy Rohrbaugh, as a new member. During this year we backed our Alma Mater in everything that came along. The wheel of time revolves and we are upper-classmen, or juniors, and 18 strong. We immediately held a class meeting and elected the following officers: President, Palmer Marshall 3 Vice President, Alton Briningerg Secre- tary, Cecile Wagner, Treasurer, Zelaplia Kneppg Historian, Betty Jane Peck. Among our social events were the class play and our Prom . Our class play entitled, Laugh Clown , brought our large audience laugh upon laugh. Our Prom was sprung upon the Seniors with a surprise of our ability to enter- tain. At last we are Seniors and our original 18 have dwindled to 14, but of course these are only the best of those who started. Our officers this year are: President. Palmer Marshall g Vice President, Clifford Rornigg Secretary, Mary jane Peters, Assistant Secretary, Cecile W'agnerg Treasurer, Phyllis Weaderg and Historian, Zelapha Knepp. -I-I-I- Class Motto: NON IN INGIBUS, SED PROGREDIENTES Class Flower: AMERICAN BEAUTY ROSE Class Colors: ROYAL BLUE AND SILVER GRAY THE 1943 CANDLEBEAM M- H S I I' 1-lx
