She says she has no interest in the opposite sex, but we think she'd look cute in an apron with a kitchen for her environment. In the future, her ambition is to get work, probably factory work. Here is Phil who possesses many talents. Those in school consist of music and sports. She is also a good dancer. As for interest in the opposite sex, it all centers on a certain junior boy. To go to a business college is her idea for a future career, in which we're sure she'll be success- 1 ful. . . CLASS SONG . From the doors of good old M.H.S. Mary is the giggling pupil of our class. She always seems quite happy. Could there be a reason for this?? She usually manages to have her lessons pre- pared and is generous in helping others. Dot joined us in our Sophomore year and we feel as though we have had a great addition. She is industrious but still hnds time for mischief. She breaks the monotony in French class. Her chief ambition is to go to college which we feel she should do and wish her success. CLIFFORD LEROY ROMIG Cliff Gee Whiz ! You can often hear someone saying in the morning, We are all present this morning except Cliff . But just look out the window and you can see him coming through the woods. His chief ambition is annoying Miss Musser in English class. We wonder why he is always invited to the Sophomore's class meetings???? CHARLES ALTON ROTHROCK Charlie Aw, heck ! Charlie', is doing his best trying to sell candy. although he has some trouble since rationing has gone into effect. VVe never hear Charles say anything about girls , but we often see him sitting, staring at them, and looking somewhat dazed . If some day you can't remember, Be it May, June, or December, Who were the members of '43 Turn to this poem and you will see. Under his guidance, we have trod, Of course you know lt's Mr. Dodd Who has served as our advisor, And by his teachings, made us wiser. If in a game, you are far behind You need some help but it's hard to find Call on Alton, he'll give you his best And that is enough to win any test. If your auto has you in a panic, You want a man who is a mechanic Come to us and we'll recommend- That Bill Frye to your troubles will tend. Some day to an opera, you may go And don't be surprised if on the stage, you see Flo For as a singer she rates the best, And in this ambition we wish her success. There's a girl so bright and gay, To be sure, it's Arla Maye And you wonder why the smile? A certain sergeant is home awhile. I suppose you know our Kate With her classmates she does rate, But give her the Air Corps any time, We won't tell you why because it won't rhyme. Zelapha is from East Decatur, And it's at the top we always rate her, For of this saying she takes much heed, A friend in need is a friend indeed . Here is Palmer Marshall the wit of our class, With a bashful look for a girl in the Freshman class But in his Sailor uniform he will be, .lust Who Who Now Why the same old Marshall when at sea. loves a Ford?-It's Betty Peck would travel with Erb in even a. wreck. maybe you don't know which Erb we mean of course, it is Paul of whom she is keen. She comes and goes and never sits It's Mary Jane who always Hits About with Baker in his car And in his Plymouth, she'l1 go far. And, surely you have heard of Dot She can tell you what is what, Never with her a mouth-battle pick For one thing is certain--you're going to get licked. The hell is ringing, he's in no hurry. For of being late he has no worry He's used to that, he's been late before, It's Clifford Romig who's late once more. Right now he is our candy man If he can't sell it, nobody can, He'l1 cut the corn, the wheat, the barley, It's our farmer, good old Charlie. Of timid Cecile we write this verse, We only hope she doesn't get worse For if she does, she'11 be so meek That she'll to no one ever speak.
