'Sn As the school year draws to its final days, we tend to look back at the events of the year. Events that we thought would last a lifetime fade away into only memories - the memories that will often be recalled, but never again repeated. In our minds those memories will be relived with the same enthusiasm as if they were real once again. Every student at McCluer will remember some event or experience. Possibly they might remember when .. . they were one of thefew students to be cho- sen for the rationed amount of parkingper- mits. ... they went back to their childhood as they sat and watched the production of Hansel and GreteI . girls in athletics had the opportunity to compete in state competition and how this first year competition brought a rewarding exper- ience of being so close, yet so far away. they goofed off in clases and paid the consequences later. . . .Christmas Vespers revealed the true spirit of Christmas. .. . Scoop was censored and through the combined efforts of many people, the staff was able to return to their own guidelines. . . . they turned five different shades of red when they received a singing Valentine. . .. They boogied from nine to twelve at the Half-way Dance. . . the blood bank drained a pint of their blood. they sneaked into the cafeteria without a commons card an how carefully they sneaked the food out without being caught. ... a lump formed in their throats when the Bicentennial flag was raised and when the Music Department performed the Battle Hymn of the Republic at thebicentennial concert? All of these and many more are the memories that will be relived in our minds. The end of the school year is so near and soon we will start anew in the circle of our lives. but with different people at different places, and at another time in our lives. J.R.
