X 31 .. . .V 3 This past summer the Varsity Cheerleaders practiced twice a week and attended NCA Cheerleading Camp in Springfield, Missouri at Southwest Missouri State Uni- versity. While at camp they won four blue ribbons during competition and three spirit sticks. The third night they were allowed to keep a spirit stick as one of the highest awards given. In October, they conducted a clinic at Bermuda Elementary School and judged at their cheerleading tryouts. In order to raise money they had car washes and bake sales. The money went toward camp, uniforms and the float they entered in the Homecoming Parade. They did their best to promote school spirit and had a lot of fun.

The purpose of the Pep Club is to promote good sports- manship, school spirit, and support all athletic events of McCluer High School. We lan and prepare all activities for Homecoming, which is our big event of the year. To raise money, Pep Club members have bake sales, egg begs, car washes, etc. We decorate the M-3 Lobby with red and blue streamers and banners to recognize athletic events played at hom throughout the year. After the fun, excit- ment, and hard work of Homecoming, Pep Club has as its goal to remain an active group for the remainder of the year continuing their work on raising funds, service pro- jects, developing a new Constitutio, and promote school spirit at Winter!Spring Athletic events.
