PRCJECT HANDCLASP ln Cartagena McCloy began work on a project that was to last through- out the cruise, in almost every port that the ship visited . . . Project Handclasp. Project Handclasp is the Navy's effort to spread goodwill in countries not quite as fortunate as the United States. lVlcCloy's part in Handclasp was to dis- tribute foodstuffs, athletic gear, school supplies and medicine to needy South American institutions. ln Cartagena STG3 Carl Wales was lVlcCloy's Project Handclasp representative.
