NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP These students are four of many hundreds of semi-finalists participating in the National Merit Scholarship program. This test is administered yearly to promising high school seniors. It is designed to provide a list of highly quali- fied students to organizations in- terested in financing scholarship programs. MELLOSTRINGS The members of McCIatchy's string trio are chosen annually from the better players of the Senior Orchestra. Consisting of a violinist, cellist, and pianist, the Mellostrings provide entertain- ment for numerous private or- ganizations as well as many PTA meetings.
