In these eight day sessions, sponsored by the American Legion, the delegates set up model governments on city, county, and state levels. By actually seeking and holding office, these representatives gained an understanding ofthe ideals, structure, and prac- tical operation ot our government. At a colorful assembly held on October 19, Harriet Berman was crowned queen. That evening the queen and her court were escorted up the field during halftime activities of the Grant football game. FALL PEPCATS The tall Pep Cats Committee, organized to promote school spirit, was under the capable leadership of Karen Crutcher. Their activities included decorating the stadium before the football games and planning the card stunts. Karen and all Pet Cats will be remembered for their enthusiasm, both at the games and throughout the school year. V SPRING PEPCATS The spring Pep Cat Committee, headed by Carlyne Dick, cheered the Lions through many victories this spring. Their school spirit was a contagious inspiration to both the rooters and the teams.
