The class of Iune '40 has given many not-to-be-forgotten after school dances in the school gymnasium. They are responsible for helping with the planning and presenting of the Iunior Prom of 1938 and the Senior Ball of l94O, both of which they presented with the class of Ianuary '40. The Senior Ball in particular will be long remembered since it was the first senior ball to be held in the Memorial Auditorium. Thus it has been with the class of Iune '40, always forging ahead in school activities. However, all the credit cannot be given to the students alone, but a great deal must be given to the splendid class directors, of whom they have had three, Mr. Mohr, Mr. Hallauer, and Miss Lothhammer. lt has been through their untiring efforts and helpful guidance that the class of lune '40 is able to feel that it has been one of the outstanding classes that has attended C. K. McClatchy Senior High School. Page Nine!! D

K, McClatchy Senior High School, the class of Iune '40, the first class to become completely l..ionized, has con- tributed a great deal to the progress of its school and its activities. Since their enrollment, members of this class have been outstanding in sports. Because of the effort put forth by its members, it has made an admir- able showing in the various interclass track meets that have been held each spring. In basketball, football, and baseball, lune '40 class members have also taken a prominent part. Talent contributed to the various variety shows by members of this class has helped in making each of them enjoyable and entertaining. ln an effort to make it possible for the members of their class to graduate as friends, and not as strangers, as is so many times the case, they have, in their senior year, had an event a month. These events have been in the form of general get-togethers for all seniors of lune '4U. At these events each student has worn a tag bearing his name in order to make it easier to become ac- quainted, Through these tags and events they hoped that they would come to be known as The Friendly Class.
