The Class of 1981 also honors four long-time teachers at McCann who either have left or will be leaving this year. Although our was the closing-minute win over St. joe, record was not as good as we had hoped the first time we've been able to beat this if would be, we had Steady, dependable team. The team will remember staying players, most of whom will be back next over night in the gym the night before year. The highlight of the '81 season was this game in order to settle down. This Ken Sprague's breaking of the school was Coach Millard's last year as varsity record for the most points scored in a coach: he will be succeeded by Coach single game - 39 points against Casuscelli. Chris Richardson was picked for the All-Berkshire County first team and to the All-Western Mass. second team. She had the distinction of being the second highest scorer in Berkshire County. This was the first year we had a IV team which augers well for The Girls' Softball team ended the season with a seven and nine record. Our team won three of their last four games, indicating the very great improvement that our girls showed during the course of the season. Not only did we beat Pittsfield and St. joe, powerhouses in their leagues, but we also beat Taconic for the first time ever. Because of our fine record, we were entered in the Western Mass. Division Ill tournament, where we beat Mohawk in the opening game in the 10th inning. We were not so fortunate in the semi-finals, getting beat by St. joe. Despite our losing many players, we look ahead to an even better season next year. Our cheerleaders, under the coaching of Mrs. Hahn during the football season and Mrs. Perrault during basketball, were a spirited and vocal group.
