L: DRAFTING The student will receive training in the use of drafting tools and ma- chines, lettering, tracing, isometric, oblique and detailed drawings. Advance work consists of layout of machines parts, unit and sub-as- semblies, tool design in jig, fixtures, molds and dies. Other areas of achievement consist of piping, structtu-al, electrical, electronic, and architectural drafting . A student may elect to specialize as a junior or Senior in the follow- ing areas, tool 8 machine design, architectuu-al, electJ'ical-elec- tronic, or piping and structmu-al drafting. Upon graduation the student attains the rank of junior Draftsman with a certificate from the American Institute for Design and Drafting. Some occupations the student can enter are as follows: Draftsman, Layout Draftsman, Electrical-Electronic Draftsman, Architectural, Structural Draftsman, or Estimator. if Front Row: R. Lewis, D. I 9 'Z MACHINE TECHNOLOGY The Machine Technology Program offers training in the use of basic hand tools and the operation of precision machines, such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and milling machines, including modern computer tape controlled machines. Students also make their own tools for their future use. When the student graduates from the Machine Technology Program , he will be able to enter occupations such as maintenance machinist tool and die maker, machine inspector, or model maker. - wa, T. METAL FABRICATION The Metal Fabrication program offers training in layout, form and assembly of sheet metal parts, structural fabrications and assemblies Students will be taught how to set up and operate metal fabrication machinery, such as brakes, sheares, presses, punches, and forming machines. The coLu'se will also rovide skill in all hases of electric P P oxyacetylene , mig welding and heliarc welding using modern indus- trial equipment under industrial conditons.
