Charron R Armstrong E St Pierre M Dix PLA T MAI TENANCE The purpose ofthe Plant Maintenance Course is to prepare young men to work in the main- tenance department of commercial and indus- trial establishments. The shop work is under the direction and instruction of Mr. Babula and Mr. Upton, while the related classroom theory is taught by Mr. Choquctte. The curriculum includes training in wood- working, painting, electricity, machine shop, plumbing, heating, and metal working. During the four years at McCann students are guided in three forms of Plant Maintenance: general maintenance, specific trade basics, such as painting, plumbing and heating re- pair serviceg and thinking maintenance , diagnosing mechanical and technical prob- lems and prescribing corrective measures. l-Txpcinsion into the old and much larger Auto- motive shop and the great number of jobs done around the school testify to the popular- ity and need for this course. 22

Tash. , TECH ICAL OFFICE OCCUPATIO The Technical Office Occupations Course trains students to become efficient tech- nical olifice personnel, giving them a hroad background in the operation of modern husiness machines and data pro- cessing. ' MISS TERESA BELLINI Students take basic courses such as typ- ing, record keeping, office practice, husiness math, and accounting. They are trained in the operation of the most mod- ern husiness machines, and qualified students may choose to specialize in Electronic Data Processing andfor Pro- gramniing. The local point ol' the TOO laboratory is the ll3ll lBiNl Computer, the largest com- puter in any area high school.
