Upton Food Service This course prepares its students for a career in any of the several phases of food preparation and handling. The major areas of concentration in- clude menu planning, food management, storage, food chemistry, quantity preparation and baking, hygiene and sanitation. safety and terminology. Mrs. Hatton's related classroom in- struction is applied in the kitchen and bakery under the direction of Mr. Can- tone. Students are also exposed to cafeteria work under the guidance of Mrs. Ostrander, the school dietitian. The Tea Room is open to the public every Tuesday and Friday. On these days the students prepare and serve the entire meal. During the school year the students serve over fifteen hun- dred patrons.
