MJ eff' At Rallies, Slogans, Streamers Vitalize 'Beat Travis' Weelz One of the most looked-forward-to times of our entire school year is the Week which precedes the Travis game. This year the Week was filled With funny costumes, slogans, streamers, and spur-of- the-moment pep rallies which sprang up between the organized pep rallies. School spirit was at its height. The final day was started when the cheerleaders presented the victory bell at the tremendous Friday-morning rally and climaxed when the Knights brought the bell home to McCallum for another year late that night. Iolm Paul also is dressed like so many other McCallumites for the novel week of the Travis game. There was a near-capacity Crowd gathered at House Park for the Rebel-Knight tilt. McCallum students, as v1s1tors, were seated at the south end of the stadium.

In the front of the school during Beat Travis week, the grave of Johnny Reb was viewed by the dry-eyed, smiling lYlCC11lllllI1lt6S. Sure' enough, johnny died ut House Park on October sixth in a roaring battle between the Knights MNNANHMN and the Rebels. The McCallum team edged over Travis by one down in the 6-6 game to put the Victory Bell back in MHS. Escorted onto the stage by smiling FHA members during a pre-Christmas Style Show, were Victor Mokry, Delbert Mo- berg, jack Madden, Mike Gordon, and YVayne Fickel, nominees for FHA Beau. lack Madden, announced as the winner, was crowned by Maris-ue Schwartz, Above: These lovely dresses, being displayed by Margie johnson and Pat Wallin with Lynnell Stanford and Catherine Thompson nearby were sent to McCallum by Vogue Patterns for a style show in the library. Something seems to have caught Judy Giualtneyls' eye, while Barbara McDaniel models a dress she made in a style show presented shortly before Christmas. 20 Below: Norma Taylor brought honor to McCallum by being named a member on McCall's Patterns Teen Fashion Board. This lovely display appeared in Williams with the model wearing a dress that Norma made.
