Despite the failure to win the flip, the Knights wound up the season with only the one loss and that came in the fading seconds of the game with the Temple Wild- cats. P l Right: Jerry Winn and Mike Carmichael proudly crate up the Vic- tory Bell for another year, another win. The Knights came home in possession of the bell this year after winning the Travis game-the victor of which keeps the bell for the following year. Immediately after the Travis win, which gave us a triple tie with Palestine and Temple, the coaches of the tied teams flipped. 7he 14fMcWzMf TRAVIS BONHRE Our bonfire just missed being premiered several times before the opening nighter. We built the bonfire for the first time on our own school grounds. Several times before the set date the stack was fired and had to be rebuilt again. Each time, however, the willing students threw themselves to the task and rebuilt to the original size. The pep rally lighted by the bonfire, was one of the best in McCallum's history and, as the fire burned down, enthusiastic McCallumites retreated to the cafe- torium for a dance in anticipation of the coming victory. l Q4 if if W
