Student Council H osts Career Day Gathering at McCall-Donnelly High for Career Day sponsored by the Student Council, were 450 students from Cascade, New Meadows, Cam- bridge, Riggins, Midvale, and Garden Valley, Twenty-five representatives from various col- leges, business schools, and the armed forces introduced their educational programs to the students. Homecoming half-time activities were en- gineered by the Student Council, While the Sen- iors put on the Homecoming Dance, Court candidates were nominated by the football team and were voted on by the student body. Pant-suits and dress slacks were included in the dress code proposed by the Stu.dent Council and approved by the school board, Honorary non-voting members include cheer- leaders, presidents of clubs, and editors of publications. Girls, and 0315, Cla by C0-host A welcome Freshman dinner and party got the Girls' Club off to a good start, In mid-February the girls joined the Boys' Club in sponsoring the formal dance that is always included in their yearly activities. At the monthly meetings special programs were featured: among them talks by Mrs. Will Powers on Japan and by Miss Candy Watson on proper sitting, standing, and walking procedures apropos to the mini skirt, and a special film and lecture sponsored by the March of Dimes on birth defects. The year came to a close with the annual mother-daughter tea and fashion show in May honoring mothers of the senior girls. Girls from the home economics and art classes modeled clothing which they had made from fabrics designed with their own original silk screen prints. Preparing for the mother-daughter tea are Annabel Newc Omer, Presidentg Katherine Parkinson, Advisor, Claudie Willey, Pro- gram Chairmang Pam Lawrence, Secretary- Treasurerg Wanda Duel, Advisorg Karlene Bayok, Vice-President. 18
