Since she has been here at McAuley, Sr. Amadeus has introduced the Mod System, with certain modifications. This Mod System allowed for many more electives, Sr. Amodeush pride and joy, to be brought to the College Preparatory program. Also, while Sr. Amadeus has been principal of McAuley, the Guidance Department has been expanded. Outside of school, Sister enjoys bridge, Theater, music, cooking, sewing, and sports. PRI NCIPAL Sr. Perpetuo Overbeck Sr, Perpefua Overbeck is Dean of Students at McAuley High School, Sr. Perpetuo attended Edgecliff College, Xavier University, and the University of Cincinnati, earning an M.A., an A.B., and she is 0 candidate for a D Ed. khe has finished up to her dissertationl This is Sr. Perpetua's seventh year here or McAuley. Besides her position as Dean of Students, Sr. also teaches English and Religion. Outside of school, Sr. enjoys reading, crochefing, piano, sewing, and observing nature. Sr. Marjorie Rudemiller Sn Marjorie Rudemiller, Vice-Principol of McAuley High School, has been here for fen years. As Vice-Prin- cipol, Sr. Marjorie is also Dean of Activities, in charge of student activities. She attended Mother of Mercy High School, and later Edgecliff College and Xavier University. She earned 0 BS, in Home Economics and on M. ed. SrA Marjorie also teaches Socioiogy of Family Life. In spite of her busy schedule, Sr. Marjorie finds time To sew. Sr. Elizabeth Dowling Sr. Elizabeth Dowling has been of McAuley acting OS 0 guidance counselor, Math, and Religion teacher for Ten years. She went to Mother of Mercy High School before attending Edgecliff College and XU, where she obtained her M.ed. Sr. Elizabeth finds enough spare time to pursue her interests in sports, music, knitting, and reading Mr. Bob Costelli Mr. Bob Castelli has been guiding McAuley students for seven years now, and it's a full time job He enjoys all sports, but only participates in one, tennis. Mr. Costelli has earned a BA. and M.ed. while attending Thomas More College and Xavier University. Miss Claire Petermon Besides acting as a fulletime counselor, Miss Claire Petermon teaches English. She has been at McAuley for six years. Miss Pefermcm is interested in tennis, traveling, reading, needlepoint, and sewing. Miss Sue Bosche In her fourth year or McAuFey, Miss Sue Bosche teaches English I and IV and Religion llle Besides teaching, she embroiders, sews, hikes, and cooks. Sr. Cheryl Erb Sr. Cheryl Erb has been teaching ReIigion I and American History at McAuiey for six years. She earned a BA, after attending XU, UC, and Edgecliff College, Sr. Cheryl also won the Coe Fellowship to New York Store UniversiTy. Sewing and water skiing occupy Sr. Cheryl's free time. Mr. Chuck Buhrmcm Anyone who has ever been in one of Mr. Buhrmonls Bio l or II classes in his four years here knows that he has other interests. Mr. Buhrman is an avid follower of the Reds and Bengals, and he coaches McAuley's Reserve Basketball Team. Psychology oIso interests him. He earned CI 8.5. 0nd a Master's in Counseling 0t XU, after attending Carroll High School in Dayton, Ohio. Sr. Clara Blonkmeyer Sr. Clara Blonkmeyer is in charge of McAuIey's Audio-Visuol Department, Sister is well qualified for this position; she attended Xavier University, Wilberforce College, the University of Dayton, the University of Cincinnati, and the Notional Technical School in Los Angeles, California. She earned a Bocheior's of Education, on M.ed., and a Master's of Television and Radio Repair. She is McAuley's Media Specialist, and she teaches American History. Sister is interested in amateur radio, photography, cooking, stomp collecting, and the Cincinnati Reds. Sr. M. Clarita Roettker Sister Clarita offended Mother of Mercy High School, the Athenoeum of Ohio, and The Catholic University in Washington, DC. She earned 0 8.5, in Education, on M.A. in Education, and 21 credits in Theology beyond an M.Ai Sisfer Clarita has been here for eleven years and teaches Religion. In her free time Sister Clarita works with retarded children. Fr. Poul Cooper Fr. Poul Cooper is in his eleventh year of McAuley and reaches Morality and Sacramental Theology. Fr. Cooper went to Dayton Chominode High School, St. Gregory Seminary, and Mt. St. Mary Seminaryi He earned a BA. through his studies. He enjoys sports such 05 tennis and golf, but soiling is his favorite. Sr. Eileen Marie Wallace Sister Eileen Marie, proprietor of McAuley's Supply Store, also teaches Accounting I and II and Business Math. She has been Teaching of McAuley for nine years. She attended St. John College, earning a BS. in Education and the University Of Notre Dame, earning an M.B.A. Music, crocheting, crossword puzzles, bowling, tennis, and gift wrapping occupy Sisteres free time. Miss Michell Ellenberger As a McAuley graduate, Miss Michell Ellenberger later attended Edgecliff College, earning a B.A., the University of Valencia in Spain Iberoamericana in Mexico, and the University of Virginia, earning cm M.A. In her second year of McAuley, Miss Ellenberger Teaches Spanish I and Ill and enjoys traveling Mr. Richard Evert Mrl Richard Evert is the new instructor of McAuley's Orchestra He attended the University of Cincinnati, the University of Michigan, and Indiana University, earning a Bachelor of Music Collecting records, camping, and tennis take up Mr. Evert's free time, Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald In her two years here at McAuley Mrs Mary Fitzgerald has taught Religion IV, English Ill, and Creative Writing. She acquired 0 B.A. in English through her work at St, Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana. This year Mrs. Fitzgerald become the new head of the National Honor Society. Miss Mary Gerth Miss Gerth has been a familiar face at McAuley for three years, but that wasn't the first time she had walked through these halls. She's a graduate of McAuley and attended UC, where she acquired on Associative Degree in Secretarial Science and a 8.5. in Education. When Miss Gerth isn't at school teaching Typing l, Semester Shorthand, Business Moth, Accounting l, and General Typing, she's elsewhere sailing, water skiing, or traveling. Mr. Jerry Glascock A ioyol Roger Bacon fan and graduate, Mr. Jerry Gloscock has been here at McAuley for seven years. Another big pride in his life is the 31205 his Junior Homeroom 123 collected in the 1975 Raffle. They come out on top as the most successful homeroom in the most successful class. In addition to the Raffle, Mr. Gloscock enjoys poker and science fiction as well as teaching English II and IV and Modern Novel. He attended XU,ec1rning a BS. and an MVA. in English Mrs. Dorcas Grebb Mrss Dorcas Grebb, in her fifteenth year, teaches Algebra I and II and Geometry Her grandchildren, travel, reading, needlework, and gloss and China occupy her free time. Mrs. Grebb earned on A.B. and an MA, after her work of Sourheostern University of Michigan, the University of Michigan, UC, and the University of Colorado. Miss Dianne Green In her sixth year at McAuley, Miss Dionne Green teaches Home Ec I and Ill and Clothing Construction. Miss Green acquired 0 BA. after attending Mt. St. Joseph, Marion, Purdue, and UC Sewing, Kniffing, needlepoint, refinishing furniture, roses, and garden work occupy her spare time. Sr. Greta Schmidlin Sre Greta Schmidlin acquired o Bachelor's and Masters in Business Education while offending Edgecliff College, XU, and UC. She teaches Shorthond l and II, Transcription, Office Practice, and Semester Shorthond 0t McAuley and has been here for ten years. Outside of school Sr. Greta enjoys baseball, football, bowling, and bridge. Mr. Fred Haas Mr. Fred Haas offended Elder High Schoof and Xavier Universify, where he received his 8.5. He has been a member of the faculty here of McAuley for four years, Mr. Haas teaches Religion II and IV. Miss Mary Jane Huber Miss Mary Jane Huber attended Mt. St. Joseph Coilege and Xavier University, receiving an AB. and an M.ed. with on English Concentration. Presently in her eleventh year at McAuley, Miss Huber teaches English I and II and Reading. She enjoys gardening, reading, and hond-needle works. Miss Virginia Huber Miss Virginia Huber attended Mt. St. Joseph College and Xavier University, earning a BA. and on M.ed. She is presently in her tenth year of McAuley teaching World Culture. Miss Huber also enjoys traveling. 2O Mrs. Claire Hughes After graduating from McNicholos High School, Mrs. Claire Hughes went on to complete her education of UC where she earned her 8.5. in Education and her M.A. in Math She has fought Algebra I and II and Geometry in her Two years of McAuley. Mrs. Hughes is interested in sewing, saiiing, and tennis. Miss Cynthia Huff A Biology l and Health teacher, Miss Cynthia Huff is in her first year at McAuiey. She received her B.A. from Edgecliff College. Miss Huff enjoys sports, reading, and art. Sr. Johanna Niklos Sr. Johanna has been at McAuley for twelve years and teaches Algebra I, Physics, and German ll. Before coming here to teach, she attended Mother of Mercy High School, Edgecliff College, Xavier University, Ohio University, Thomas More College, UC, and Notre Dame. Mr. John O'Connor A veteran of thirteen years of teaching at McAuley, Mr. John O'Connor has attended five colleges and universifiries: St. Jerome's College, the University of Toronto, John Carroll University, UC, 0nd XU. He holds Two B.Ai's 0nd one M.Ai He teaches Latin I, II, Ill, and IV, and he is interested in reading, gardening, and sports, Mrs. Mary Ellen Ohr Mrs. Mary Ellen Ohr, in her fourth year of teaching Biology I, attended Edgecliff, Miami, and UC and holds 0 B.A. Her hobbies are cooking, sewing, hiking, and traveling. Miss Kathy Pohl After attending Summit Country Day School, Miss Pohl went on to Moryville College of the Sacred Heart. She transferred to Mt. St. Joe and also went to Xavier University. Miss Connie Robinson This is Miss Robinson's first year at McAuiey. She teaches World Literature, English IV, and Humanities. Miss Robinson attended Marion High School and received a BA, in Literature and a 3.3. in Education from the University of Cincinnati. Her other interests include sewing, reading, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the theater. Mrs. Carol Sonten Mrs. Carol Santen teaches Home Economics, Money Management, Meal Preparation, and Clothing Construction. She went to Mt. St. Joseph College where she acquired a B.A. in Home Economic Education. Her outside interests include tennis, golf, and crafts. Mrs. Santen is new at McAuley. 25 Mr. Jim Schneider Another of McAuley's Roger Bacon graduates, Mr. Jim Schneider attended the College of Sfeubenville, earning c BA. in History and did graduate work at XU. Mr. Schneider teaches Modern Europe, American History, and World Cutture and has been at McAuley for five years. He coaches McAuieyes Varsity Basketball Team and is a Board Member of the National Honor Society. Mrs. Carol Seissiger In her first year at McAuley, Mrs. Carol Seissiger teaches Spanish II, III, and IV. Sports, crafts, sewing, and reading occupy her free time, MrsA Seissiger attended Elizabeth Seton College and Western Connecticut State College, earning an A.A.S. 0nd 0 86. Mrs. Nathalie Semoncik Mrs. Nathalie Semoncik has taught at McAuley for nine years, four years of which were part Time. She teaches English Ill and Reading. Never before in the history of McAuley's raffle has the school achieved so much through the efforts of almost all the girls. Although the moans and groans echoed in the halis at the announcement of Raffle Ticket Time, the girls superbly pulled together to make this the best raffle evert Class and homeroom competition sparked enthu- siasm in girls who usually threw their quota of tickets in their lockers and promptly forgot that they ever received theme Homeroom spirit ran wild in the halls in the disguise of such people as Gerry's Springers and Grebb's Guppies. All classes pitched in but the tough competition remained between the Senior and Junior Classes. The race was close. After awhile no Seniors were a bit surprised when they went somewhere and found out that the Juniors had already been there. Thanks to the Juniorsj everyone in the Tri-State knows McAuley has a raffle every year. Girls with bulging purses were seen in every bowling alley in town. Besides the class competition, there was the great race between last year's winning homeroom, Miss Pohl's 120 and the never tiring, always smiling, Mr. Glascock of 123. The rivalry was tough but SOOn Mr. Giascock autsmarted Miss Pohl's Seniors to win the well deserved Home Free Award as the top selling homeroom. Officers Carl Minkhouse and John Haywood displayed ordinary household objects, such as aerosol sprays, which were highly flammable. There were also two films shown, the first per- taining to a school fire and the second concerning home fire safety. Although the assembly was serious in nature, there were a few comic moments. The students were impressed by various statistics which the officers related. On May 12, I976, first the Seniors and Freshmen and then the Juniors and Sophomores, attended the annual May Moss. The entire school fumed out to pay homage to the Bfessed Mothere FrA Waller conducted the first Moss, and Fr. Cooper conducted the second, The Masses had been scheduled for 0 week earlier, but had been concelied because of predicted bad weather. Paying homage to Mary. Little-Big Sister Picnic The Little Sisters of this year's Seniors had their spring picinic on May 12. Using the theme of the Seniors, Mickey Mouse, the Freshmen song and danced for their Big Sisters. After the program, the sisters ate and played games outside. The Little Sisters thoughtfully provided 0 magnificent feast of pizza, chicken, potato chips and cake for their favorite Seniors. By this time, the Hsisters knew each other better. Tro- phies and certificates were given as awards to out- standing players of each sport, and some of the girls received letters for their achievements. Karen De receives her trophy. Commencement yw thpimun Junior Ring Ceremony The Juniors become Seniors at the Junior Ring Ceremo- ny on June 1, 1976. Father Cooper celebrated C1 Moss during which the rings were blessed and distributed. The Class of 1977 continued the school tradition which included each girl presenting a ring to one of her class- mates. This was done by having all the rings in boxes, and then each girl drew a ring at random to give to another girl, The ceremony usually takes place outside, in the courtyard behind the school, but this year inclement weather forced the ceremony indoors. The Senior symboL Awards Day a June 4 The theatre has its Tony; the Movies have their Oscars; the TV has its Emmye McAuley has its Awards Day. On June 4, Friday, the underclassmen attended their final schooldoy of the 1975-76 year. The student body met in the auditorium for the presentation of awards. Clubs such as Multi-Media and Library Aides honored their members for the number of years served. Each department recognized the scholars in each sub- ject. Student Council presented their $100 Scholarships The final presentation of the day was to Mrs. Grebb, who was re- tiring after sixteen years at McAuley.
