As they go about on errands of healing, of feeding the hungry, of bringing comfort to the af- flicted, of teaching, of harboring the homeless - the Sisters of Mercy carry out this command of Love. In the year 1912, Mother Mary Bernardine McMullen, Mother Mary Anthony McMullen and Mother Mary de Chantal came from Grand' Rapids, Michigan to Tiffin, Ohio! at the request of Toledo's first Bishop, Most Reverend Joseph Schrembs. Enroute they stopped in Toledo for their first ypostulant Sister Mary Joseph Manor. He has sustained them in His work by giving them strength and grace, imbuing them with His love and blessing them a hundredfold.
