Her majesty was crowned in the stadium. HOMECOMING Seven lovely girls represented McArthur High School at the most beautiful homecoming in its entire history on the evening of November 16, 1962. The petite and charming Miss Sandi Chaddock, escorted by Student Council President, Victor Varkonyi. accepted the crown and a gorgeous bouquet of red roses, as she was named Queen of this gala occasion. The queen's court consisted of Carol Bott, Carole Wood, Andrea DeCrecenzo, Ioanne Paschke, Karen Fusco, and Linda Bellantoni. Each of these attractive young ladies received a corsage. Sweethearts of the various clubs on campus were honored and presented with corsages of yellow carnations and matching bou- tonnieres. On the following evening, November 17, the Home- coming Dance was held at 8 p.m. in the school gym- nasium. The reception line consisted of the Queen and her court. One of the highlights of the evening was the acceptance speech, noted for its simplicity and sin- cerity, which was delivered by Miss Chaddock. Following her speech, the coronation dance was beautifully executed, being led by the queen and her escort, and accompanied vocally by Mary Ellen Hibbard singing Moon River.
