MCARTI-IUR 'S DCE SPONSORS DISTRICT MEETING McArthur's D. C. E. group sponsored the Broward County District meeting in February. Representatives from all Broward schools attended. The club was honored with the Sears Foundation Award plaque and financial award as the outstanding club in the state. In March they attended the State Convention in Jacksonville. The club attended many banquets and parties in- cluding the Organization luncheon, Employee-Employer banquet, Christmas party, and the end of the year picnic. W' -t..,-- . it ,. It proved such a success that a Bermuda Hop was held later in the spring. The pro- ceeds from these two affairs were given to the various sports funds to help with their needs. Other contributions to MHS were a basketball board with the players' names and numbers that was placed in the gym, and also a trophy was given to the track team. ' During our Thanksgiving vacation the club gave a basket to a needy family. Also the members sponsored the annual Coaches-Athletes picnic held on May 27. Throughout the year the Monogram Club has done much to promote school spirit at MHS.
